Some Interesting and Mindblowing Mathematics Facts

Hi guys……I hope everyone is doing great in this lockdown 4.0. These days I have been looking for some stuffs in the web. In this hunt I came up with some amazing mathematics facts. I’ll try to share some with you in this blog.

The Largest Prime number The largest known Prime number as of January 2020 is 282,589,933 −1, it has 24,862,048 digits when written in base 10. It was founded by Patrick Laroche of GIMPS in 2018

The number 40 This fact may not be interesting to most of you but I found this quite interesting. The letters, F O R T Y, are in Alphabetical order and is the only number having so.

The number 0 Aryabhatta introduced the concept of ‘0’. Actually that is not the fact. The fact is that:- the number 0 is the only number which cannot be defined in Roman numerals.

Value of pi(π) When I think of pi, the only value comes to my mind is 3.14 which has only 3 digits, but a Google Cloud developer Haruka Iwao set a record of counting the value to 31,415,926,535,897 digits(31.4 trillion). It took 121 days for Google’s Virtual machines to reach this number.

Hundred ≠ 100 The word ‘hundred’ comes from the old Norse term, “hundrath”. Most of you know this but you may not know that in Norse “hundrath” means the number ‘120’ and not ‘100’.

Mathematical symbols We all are very familiar with many mathematical symbols like;- ‘+’ and ‘-‘, but you may not know that until the 16th century all Mathematical equations were written in words and not with symbols.

11 + 2 = 12 + 1 This fact is a little weird. If we rearrange the letters in “ELEVEN PLUS TWO” we get “TWELVE PLUS ONE” and their sum is also the same(13).

111,111,111 ^ 2 Go and multiply 111,111,111 with itself you will find a very interesting number. You can use a calculator if you want to. So I’ll make it easy for you 111,111,111^2 = 12,345,678,987,654,321 you can try it yourself. I hope you liked this short and simple blog. I will try to do some more facts related blogs in the future. Until then Stay home, Stay Safe and do whatever you want my lovely friends.
